Reiki for animals and their families in Solihull & South Birmingham
A quiet space inspired by water, where life slows, softens and flows.
A compassionate support for your animals during times of illness or ageing, and a quiet, intuitive space for you to rediscover your own natural equilibrium.
Reiki is best understood through experience. Some people feel deeply relaxed or sleepy. Others may notice warmth, tingling or a sense of emotional release. For animals, Reiki acts as a bridge to deep relaxation, helping them release tension and find comfort in a way that words cannot.

Animal Reiki
Sessions take place in your home, where your animal feels most at ease. Reiki may offer complementary support alongside veterinary care, helping with stress reduction, post-surgery recovery, and comfort during end-of-life care and times of health challenges.
Even a single Reiki session can be beneficial, but regular sessions often bring deeper results. These can be scheduled weekly, every two weeks, or less frequently, depending on your animal’s needs.

About Me
Guided by calm, inspired by compassion.
Hi, I’m Hande,
I am an insured Reiki Practitioner and a Verified Member of The UK Reiki Federation. My practice, The Cove, was born from a long-held belief in the quiet strength that compassion brings to both animals and people.
My Connection to Animals
I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember. From my childhood budgies and turtles to my lovely dog Lucky, and for 16 years, my "bossy" cats Kismet and Alaca... Each has left a paw print on my heart.
A Foundation of Knowledge
Alongside my corporate professional life, I have dedicated myself to understanding the science and soul of animal care. I believe that to truly help an animal, we must understand their mind as well as loving them. My background includes:
-
A Diploma in Canine Psychology (Distinction).
-
Practical training with the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers).
-
Specialized certification in Animal Reiki.
Compassion in Action
My journey has taken me from volunteering with stray dogs in Istanbul to working at a wildlife sanctuary in Costa Rica, and volunteering for dog training in the UK. Today, I am proud to volunteer with The Cinnamon Trust. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the profound bond between humans and animals.
My Aim
Whether I am visiting you at home for an animal session or welcoming you to my quiet space in South Birmingham, my goal is simple: to create a safe, supportive environment where life slows down, and healing begins.
More About Animal Reiki
Animal Reiki isn't as widespread as Reiki for humans, but that doesn't mean animals don't appreciate it. In fact, animals are often more receptive to energy. They can be very sensitive to the energies and intentions around them. Just like your dog sensing when you are sad, or your cat choosing to sit beside you during a stressful day.
How Reiki may support animals?
Reiki isn't a substitute for veterinary care, but it is a powerful supportive tool that addresses the animal's comfort and emotional well-being.
-
Illness & Recovery: Reiki provides a gentle layer of comfort during recovery or as a pet manages chronic, age-related changes.
-
Emotional Support: It can help lower stress levels for animals who find vet visits, kennel stays, or changes in the home environment difficult.
-
Support for Seniors: For older companions, Reiki offers a quiet, peaceful space to help them cope with the frustrations of reduced mobility or the physical wear of aging.
-
End-of-Life Compassion: In those final chapters, Reiki offers a sense of peace for the animal and emotional support for the family.
A single session can be very calming, but for chronic issues or long-term anxiety, the benefits often build more effectively over regular sessions (weekly or fortnightly).
What happens during a session?
Sessions take place in the comfort of your home, where your animal feels safest like their bed or favourite resting spot.
Reiki can be experienced in different ways. Some animals may feel a gentle flow of energy, warmth, coolness, tingling, or nothing at all.
Your animal leads the session and may choose to receive Reiki up close or from a short distance. I don't need to physically contact them.
The length of a Reiki session can vary, but it usually lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.
